Puppy Planning Checklist

What is going on behind the scenes in order to prepare for breeding:

  • DNA testing

  • OFA testing- for joint health- preliminary testing available only after 1 year old.

  • Obedience training- ongoing

  • Pairing planning- comparing DNA, OFA, temperament, and body structure to assure mating pairs are compatible and the traits compliment each other.

  • Maturity- must be emotionally mature enough to deliver and mother her litter of pups

Why no Puppies now?

  • We are waiting on physical and emotional maturity of our breeding dogs.

  • Health testing is still in progress.

  • Matchmaking is in the works! We want to ensure that each breeding pair is compatible and has traits that complement each other to produce well rounded pups.

  • Mother Nature decides when breeding females are able to be bred.
