Our Holistic Approach

We have a deep respect for the importance of preventative health practices including foundational nutrition, supportive natural treatments, and pre-screening for genetic health dispositions prior to breeding. We value the gifts given by the Earth and use natural healthcare as a preventative and first line of defense, when safe to do so. All our dogs and puppies are allowed to explore indoors and outdoors, and while we train for safety and mental stimulation, they are allowed to make choices for themselves.

  • We believe that the best way to sustain health and longevity is through building a strong foundation using the top notch nutrition. This is why we are dedicated to feeding raw food.

An proper diet of raw food benefits:

    • Enhance immunity

    • Reduced inflammation

    • More natural weaning process for puppies

    • Increase ease of absorption of nutrients

    • Supports healthier digestion with smaller, firmer stools

    • Reduced food sensitivities caused by additives and fillers

    • Increased energy and vitality

    • Helps maintain cleaner teeth and fresher breath

    • Supports natural microbiome by providing enzymes, nutrients and probiotics lost in processed food

  • Whenever safe and possible, natural remedies are used as a first line of defense for prevention and treatment of basic issues. We believe they are gentler and effective when used properly compared to pharmaceuticals Treatments are considered only after research, experience, and/or vet support.

    • Digestion Support

      • canned pumpkin

      • bone broth

      • slippery elm

    • Skin & Coat

      • coconut oil

      • fish oil/ sardines

    • Immune & General Wellness

      • rich whole food diet

      • goat milk (directly from our homestead when available)

  • We strive to provide a low- toxin environment for our family, animals and even plants. We believe that we are exposed to enough harmful chemicals in today’s world, which contribute to countless health problems including allergies, asthma, and compromised immunity. On our homestead and in our home, we follow these practices:

    • Use gentle, natural cleaning products

    • Limit use of harsh chemicals

    • Reduce amount of processed food/ treats

    • Use plastic alternatives for feeding/ watering when possible

  • Puppies are allowed to grow at a natural pace to support nervous system regulation, confidence and resilience.

    • Access to rest, play and explore indoors and outdoors ad lib.

    • No forced early separation from mom- while mom is allowed breaks, puppies are allowed access to her until adoption day.

    • Introduction to household routines

    • Natural instincts to potty outside of den are nurtured though early potty “training”

    • Age-appropriate handing and stimulation

  • As thoughtfully as we have selected our breeding dogs, we have also carefully sought out excellence in our veterinarian. The decision to go to the vet’s office is made with careful consideration and weighing of risk vs benefit, as there is a risk of exposure whenever entering a place where sick animals have recently been.

    • Diagnostic and medical care as appropriate, especially related to pregnancy

    • Natural remedies are used as first line of defense when safe and appropriate

    • Medical intervention embraced when necessary
